Sports Medicine Symposium 2017 on Saturday, May 20, will feature Hawaii Pacific Health physicians discussing a wide range of topics, including adolescent back injury, management of high ankle sprains, vestibular rehabilitation and back to play evaluation protocols, sports nutrition, and how to improve communication on and off the field.

Straub Joins Forces with More Than 500 Organizations to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening Rates Nationwide
Straub Medical Center recently made the pledge to help increase colorectal cancer screening rates by supporting the “80% by 2018” initiative led by the American Cancer Society, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (an organization co-founded by ACS and CDC). More than 500 organizations have committed to substantially reducing colorectal cancer as a major public health problem, and are working toward the shared goal of 80 percent of adults ages 50 and older being regularly screened for colorectal cancer by 2018.
Hawaii Pacific Health was recently named a recipient of the HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in health information technology. Established in 1994, the Davies Awards program promotes electronic health record-enabled improvement in patient outcomes through sharing of case studies and lessons learned across a wide range of efforts.

Pali Momi Medical Center Donates Portable Defibrillators to the University of Hawaii Athletics Department
Pali Momi Medical Center has donated seven automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, to the University of Hawaii Athletics Department for use throughout its men’s and women’s programs.
Hawaii Pacific Health celebrates women in the community with the 40th Annual Hawaii Pacific Health Women’s 10K, to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7 a.m. at Kapiolani Park.
