Kapiʻolani is home the Women's Cancer Center, the only center of its kind in the state dedicated to the prevention and treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers.

Our dedicated care teams strive to provide the highest level of women's cancer care in Hawaiʻi, where a woman's support network of family and friends can be an integral part of the treatment and healing process.

Kapi′olani Medical Center will soon be home to the Martha B. Smith Cancer & Infusion Center, a dedicated space designed to enhance cancer and infusion care for Hawai′i’s women and children. It will accommodate the latest technology and treatments for pediatric, breast, and gynecologic cancers, as well as autoimmune and neuromuscular diseases, and other conditions that require lifesaving infusions.

Located in the Diamond Head Tower, the Medical Surgical Unit (Med Surge) offers 12 private rooms for adult patients. Each room is equipped with telemetry monitoring capabilities for central monitoring at the nurses station.

Med Surge serves the following:

• Oncology patients, to include chemotherapy
• Post-surgical patients
• Orthopedic patients
• Pregnant patients less than 20 weeks gestation with medical surgical needs
• Mothers of NICU babies requiring postpartum care
• Postpartum moms who have experienced a loss

At Pali Momi Medical Center, primary care is provided through University Family Medicine at Pali Momi, where a team-based approach supports patients and families of all ages.

Family medicine physicians provide preventive care, routine checkups, and treatment for a wide range of a woman's health needs while also managing chronic conditions and coordinating care with specialists when needed.

Women who live in Central and West Oʻahu have come to depend on our Women’s Center for regular checkups and advanced breast healthcare.

The Dr. James T. Kakuda Cancer Center at Pali Momi Medical Center is the first integrated cancer center of its kind serving Central and West Oʻahu. At our Women’s Bone & Joint Services clinic, we provide expert, compassionate care for women with bone and joint conditions. Our team understands the health changes women experience and offers personalized treatment to help reduce pain, improve movement, and support long-term bone and joint health.

Straub Benioff Medical Center offers women's services at many of its clinics throughout the state.

Women can receive primary care from pediatricians, family medicine physicians, and internal medicine physicians who provide routine checkups, preventive care, and ongoing support across every stage of life.

Care is delivered through a team-based approach, with physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals working together to support patient needs and help coordinate care.
