Pali Momi, Straub and Wilcox Medical Centers have each earned an “A” grade in the new Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades. Straub has been awarded straight “A’s” since 2013 and is one of only 113 hospitals out of over 2,600 across the country to attain this honor.
Hawaii Pacific Health employees generously donated their own money to help patients, raising a record $944,900 for the 2016 Hawaii Pacific Health Employee Giving Campaign. The money was raised over a one-month period through personal gifts and pledges by 3,885 staff members, and was the most successful Employee Giving Campaign to-date for Hawaii Pacific Health.
Hawaii Pacific Health recognized 76 outstanding students for participating in its 2016 Health Careers Summer Internship Program at a special closing ceremony at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children August 5. That’s why Wilcox Memorial Hospital has partnered with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Hawaii Division to educate Kauai students on how to spot a stroke and save a life.
Wilcox Memorial Hospital presents Kids Summer Fest, a free health education event for kids and families, on Saturday, June 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort in Lῑhu‘e.

Hawaii Pacific Health invites the public to a free community health event to learn about heart health for all ages. “Valentine in Paradise” will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Ala Moana Hotel, Hibiscus Ballroom. The event will also be available via video conference at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea and Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Kauai.

Wilcox Memorial Hospital invites the public to walk around the Wilcox campus with Dr. Amy Corliss on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 7 a.m., and then stay for Hawaii Pacific Health’s Cancer Care video conference at the Wilcox Memorial Hospital Conference Rooms A, B and C from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Hawaii Pacific Health is now accepting applications for the 2016 Summer Student Research Program. The eight-week undergraduate program runs from June 20 – August 12, 2016 and provides hands-on experience for college students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, February 12, 2016.
