Hawaii Pacific Health Employees Donate Nearly $1 Million to Help Create a Healthier Hawaii
Hawaii Pacific Health employees generously donated their own money to help patients, raising a record $944,900 for the 2016 Hawaii Pacific Health Employee Giving Campaign. The money was raised over a one-month period through personal gifts and pledges by 3,885 staff members, and was the most successful Employee Giving Campaign to-date for Hawaii Pacific Health.

Straub Medical Center Only Hospital in Hawaii to Receive 5-Star Rating
Straub Medical Center, a member of the Hawaii Pacific Health hospital network, has been recognized as the only hospital in Hawaii and one of only 102 acute care hospitals nationwide to receive a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Only two percent of the 4,200 acute care hospitals nationwide received this rating.
American Savings Bank Employees Raise More Than $70,000 for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children
American Savings Bank employees raised $72,641 for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children through their annual employee giving campaign, Kahiau. The funds will support the hospital’s Child Life Services program, which provides various services for pediatric patients to help them cope positively with their illness and hospitalization.

Female Surf Competition Raises Funds and Awareness for the Sex Abuse Treatment Center
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the China Uemura Wahine Surfing Classic brings together female surfers of all ages on June 4 and 5 at Kuhio Beach in Waikiki for a friendly surf competition that also supports a good cause. Since the event’s inception in 1996, proceeds from this annual event are donated to the Sex Abuse Treatment Center (SATC), a program of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.
