Hawaii Pacific Health Welcomes Pulmonologists Dr. Ronson Sato and Dr. Sheri Shimizu-Saito

Two local physicians have joined the Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group. Drs. Ronson Sato and Sheri Shimizu-Saito are both graduates of Iolani School and the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), and each brings more than a decade of experience to the Department of Pulmonology at Straub Medical Center.

Children Younger Than 5 Years Among the Hundreds of Kids Who Received the COVID-19 Vaccine at Hawaii Pacific Health Facilities

The first doses of Pfizer’s three-dose COVID-19 vaccine for children younger than age 5 were administered during two large-scale public clinics at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children and Kauai Medical Clinic.

Hawaii Pacific Health Launches COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts for Children Aged 6 Months Through 4 Years

Ten children ranging in ages from 14 months to 4 years received their first doses of the three-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children younger than age 5 today at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

Hawaii Pacific Health to Offer Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine for Children Younger Than Age 5 Starting June 25

Hawaii Pacific Health will begin offering Pfizer’s three-dose COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months through 4 years at vaccination clinics on Oahu and Kauai. Parents can now sign up online for the appointment-only time slots.

Hawaii Pacific Health Doctors Rank as HONOLULU Magazine’s Top Doctors

The June 2022 issue of HONOLULU Magazine features its annual list of Top Doctors in the state. This year’s list includes more than 200 doctors affiliated with Hawaii Pacific Health. Among those included on the list this year is Dr. Cass Nakasone, an orthopedic surgeon based at Straub Medical Center, who is featured on the cover.

YouTube Phenomenon Ryan’s World Teams up with Starlight Children’s Foundation to Deliver Smiles to Kids at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children

Starlight Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to delivering happiness to kids in hospitals, partnered with Ryan’s World to donate and personally deliver toys and games to pediatric patients at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. The 10-year-old YouTuber and his parents visited some patients in the hospital’s playroom and classroom, engaging them with coloring and play activities and distributing Starlight backpacks filled with Ryan’s World toys and games.

Blessing Held for New Emergency Department at Wilcox Medical Center

State and county leaders joined Wilcox Medical Center staff and community members today to celebrate the blessing of the facility’s new Emergency Department (ED). The new space features two trauma resuscitation suites and several specialized care rooms. Wilcox is Kauai’s only Level III Trauma Center and the first in Hawaii to be verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Wilcox Health Café to Serve Meatless Menu Every Monday Beginning May 23

In an effort to create a healthier Hawaii and increase use of local produce, the Wilcox Health Café will institute “Meatless Mondays” starting May 23, 2022. Meals will feature locally grown produce sourced from across the state.
