Hawaii Island Girl Kalley-Mae Yee Named Hawaii’s 2023 Children’s Miracle Network Champion

Kalley-Mae Yee weighed little more than a pound when she was born. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, it was revealed that the now vibrant 4-year-old girl from Hawaii Island is the 2023 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

Straub Medical Center Begins Construction on its Health Care Campus of the Future

Work is underway on Straub Medical Center’s new, state-of-the art health care campus of the future. Thursday Jan. 26, 2023, crews began the construction phase of the multi-year project with the demolition of buildings along South Hotel Street.

16th Annual Kapiolani Radiothon for Kids Raises $516,250 for Hawaii Keiki

For the second year in a row, the Kapiolani Radiothon for Kids raised more than half-a-million dollars for Hawaii children. Generous donors and community partners gave a total of $516,250 during the first in-person Kapiolani Radiothon broadcast since 2019.

Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg Help Advance Imaging Technology at Wilcox Medical Center with $1.8 Million Donation

Wilcox Medical Center is embarking on a project to upgrade and advance one of its two computed tomography (CT) machines made possible, in large part, to the generosity of Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg. The couple donated $1.8 million to help the medical center reach its $4 million goal to fund the project.

Blessing Held for New Emergency Department at Wilcox Medical Center

State and county leaders joined Wilcox Medical Center staff and community members today to celebrate the blessing of the facility’s new Emergency Department (ED). The new space features two trauma resuscitation suites and several specialized care rooms. Wilcox is Kauai’s only Level III Trauma Center and the first in Hawaii to be verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Kapiolani Patient Xander Cabales Named Hawaii’s 2022 Children’s Miracle Network Champion

Xander Cabales says his mission in life is to inspire others. The 15-year-old will do just that over the next year as he serves as the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Champion for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Xander accepted the prestigious role in front of Kapiolani staff members today at the medical center’s auditorium. He will share his courageous story throughout the coming year, inspiring countless CMN community partners and supporters committed to the health and well-being of Hawaii’s keiki.

Hawaii’s Walmart and Sam’s Club Stores Raise $383,060 for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children

Cow bells, a pie-throwing event and generous local donors all helped Hawaii Walmart and Sam’s Club stores raise more money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals than any other market in the country in 2021. Hawaii’s 13 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations raised $383,060.83 for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Hawaii’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
