Kapi′olani Medical Center will soon be home to the Martha B. Smith Cancer & Infusion Center, a dedicated space designed to enhance cancer and infusion care for Hawai′i’s women and children.

Opening in summer 2027, the new 18,300-square-foot center will include:

• Expanded adult and pediatric infusion areas
• Specialized treatment and support spaces
• A healing garden to create a welcoming experience for patients and families.

It will accommodate the latest technology and treatments for pediatric, breast, and gynecologic cancers, as well as auto-immune and neuromuscular diseases, and other conditions that require lifesaving infusions.

Women who live in Central and West Oʻahu have come to depend on the Women’s Center for regular checkups and advanced breast healthcare. 

The Dr. James T. Kakuda Cancer Center at Pali Momi Medical Center is the first integrated cancer center of its kind serving Central and West Oʻahu. The center provides a full spectrum of cancer services in one centralized location, allowing patients the convenience of receiving care at a single facility close to home. Dedicated care teams collaborate across specialties, resulting in more efficient care, better outcomes, and an improved patient experience from diagnosis to survivorship.

Women can face unique bone and joint health needs at every stage of life. Conditions like osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis are more common in women, and changes during pregnancy and menopause can also affect bones, joints, and mobility.

At our Women’s Bone & Joint Services clinic, we provide expert, compassionate care for women with bone and joint conditions. Our team understands the health changes women experience and offers personalized treatment to help reduce pain, improve movement, and support long-term bone and joint health.

Straub Benioff Medical Center offers women's services at many of its clinics throughout the state.

Women can receive primary care from pediatricians, family medicine physicians, and internal medicine physicians who provide routine checkups, preventive care, and ongoing support across every stage of life.

Care is delivered through a team-based approach, with physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals working together to support patient needs and help coordinate care.

Wilcox Medical Center proudly offers preventive and treatment services on-island to meet the health needs of Kauaʻi's women.

Our primary care physicians and specialists understand the importance of preventive health care and encourage women to connect with their providers regularly to identify risks for health problems such as breast cancer and osteoporosis, at the earliest and most treatable stage.

For generations of Kauaʻi families, Wilcox has been the trusted name in maternity and newborn care. Our expert staff at our Women and Infants' Health Unit supports the entire family through childbirth education, lactation consultation, labor management, and newborn care.

Labor, delivery, and recovery take place in one comfortable suite. Our private labor suites feature a birthing bed, television, stereo, and a private bathroom with shower.

Each suite has the latest birthing equipment needed – even for high-risk situations – with a surgical suite nearby for cesarean birth.

To enrich your experience, you will have a labor nurse to care for you throughout labor and delivery.

Our primary care providers and specialists understand the importance of preventive healthcare and encourage women to get regular health screenings to identify risks for health problems, such as breast cancer and osteoporosis, at the earliest and most treatable stage.
