Construction to install emergency generators for the hospital continues at Straub Medical Center. Construction will occur in phases and will affect traffic around the facility, particularly along Hotel Street. Some parts of the project may impact parts of the clinics and hospital. We will continue to provide updates on the construction activity and any impact it may have on our operations.

A dedicated construction hotline is available to field questions or concerns from patients and their families. The number is 535-0954.

Thank you for your patience as we work to make improvements to our facility.

Q: Who is allowed access to the Straub Emergency Department parking area?
A: Limited access is available only for ambulances, emergency department patients and Handivans.

Q: Can non-emergency public vehicles and commercial transport vehicles continue to access the Straub Emergency Department parking area?
A: Other vehicles will be diverted to the King Street area entrance. Security staff will be available to assist. Drivers of oversize vehicles should see the valet staff for assistance.

Q: Will patients who are being discharged be allowed to be picked up on the Hotel Street side of Straub?
A: All patients discharged will be picked up at the King Street area entrance. Please make arrangements ahead of time with family members and commercial transportation vendors. Coordinate pickup times so that vehicles and patients are not waiting and causing delays or congestion.

Q: With limited access to the vendor loading dock area, how will that affect access for vendors making deliveries?
A: Access to the loading dock area will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Please work with receiving staff on scheduling delivery times to reduce congestion.

Q: Will employees be able to continue getting dropped off or picked up by the Hotel Street area?
A: Employees will not be allowed to be dropped off or picked up by the Hotel Street area. Please make accommodations at King Street or other nearby areas. Coordinate pickup times so that drivers are not waiting and causing delays or congestion.
