A registered nurse with more than a decade of leadership experience is the new vice president of clinical operations for Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group (HPHMG).

Sheena Yamashiro began her career as a licensed practical nurse at Straub Benioff Medical Center 18 years ago. Yamashiro has held various roles at Straub Benioff and Hawaii Pacific Health since then, but she most recently served as HPHMG’s senior director of clinic operations for Hospital-Based Medicine, Anesthesia and Bone & Joint Centers. In this role, she led efforts in these service areas to optimize operational efficiency, elevate service delivery and improve clinical outcomes.

Yamashiro has partnered with hospital and physician leadership to design and refine integrated service models across clinics and hospital settings, and has provided strategic oversight and mentorship to directors, managers and emerging leaders.

The James Campbell High School graduate holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.

In her free time, Yamashiro enjoys cheering on her two kids at their soccer and baseball games, traveling and reading.
