The new Straub Medical Center – Ward Village Clinic & Urgent Care recently opened with three primary care physicians on its staff. One of the physicians is new to Straub while the other two have relocated to the new Ward Village clinic in Kakaako from other Straub clinic locations on Oahu.

Dr. Jimmy Chen, Family Medicine
Specializing in patient-centered primary care focused on preventive medicine, population health and innovative applications of medical technology, Chen is a new member of the Straub Medical Center team. Chen received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed his residency at the University of California at San Francisco. He also completed a fellowship with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in Leawood, Kansas. Board certified in family medicine, he is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Katsuya "Andy" Iizuka, Family Medicine
Iizuka has moved to the Ward Village clinic from Straub’s Kailua clinic. He specializes in primary care for all family members, preventive medicine and sports medicine. Board certified in family medicine, he received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. He completed his internship and residency training at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California. He is fluent in Japanese.

Dr. Akolea Ioane, Family Medicine
Board certified in family medicine, Ioane has moved to the Ward Village clinic from Straub’s First Insurance Center clinic. She provides primary care for the entire family, with a focus on women’s and adolescent health. Ioane received her medical degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed her family practice residency at VCU Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. Ioane is fluent in Hawaiian.

Straub Medical Center – Ward Village Clinic & Urgent Care is located in the Aeo residential tower at 1001 Queen Street, Suite 102, on the street level between Whole Foods and Rinka Japanese Restaurant. The clinic offers primary care services Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and urgent care services daily 10 a.m.-8 p.m. To schedule an appointment at the Ward Village clinic, call 462-5200.
