Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children hosts a special evening for pediatric patients unable to attend their own prom 04/28/2015

Staff at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children transformed the hospital’s dining room into a masquerade-themed event space recently for the third annual Kapiolani Prom. Friends and family joined young patients for the special evening, which included a DJ, dancing, photos, food and much more.

For some of Kapiolani’s medically fragile patients, attending this high school rite of passage is an impossibility. Staff and volunteers at Kapiolani have been inspired each year to provide this opportunity to not only extend the care they provide to patients every day, but to also create a fun, comfortable and safe environment for patients to have an unforgettable experience.

Generous partners who donated their time and services to make the event possible this year included:

  • Steven Boyle Design – décor and florals
  • The Bella Project – dresses
  • Elite Parking Services – valet parking
  • Exquisite Entertainment – DJ services
  • Sodexo – food
  • Photo Play Hawaii – photo both
  • Shannon Sasaki Photography – prom portraits
  • Millie – candy bar
  • 24-7 Danceforce – dance performance
  • Make ‘em Smile – live musicians
