Code Blue Pharmacist

Offering Information:
Pharmacists are sometimes called to Code Blue scenarios and will benefit from basic training in Code Blue workflow and basic knowledge of BLS/ACLS/PALS situations and algorithms.

This offering is open to Hawai'i Pacific Health Pharmacists only.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Describe the general workflow of typical Code Blue scenarios.
2. Identify members of the Code Blue team.
3. Recognize the basics of the Life Safety algorithms.
4. Describe the pharmacist's role during a Code Blue scenario.
5. Identify commonly used medications during various Code Blue scenarios.


CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health has approved this activity. It is also assigned the Universal Activity Number (UAN) 0587-0000-17-039-L05-P and is accredited for 1.0 hour for pharmacists.
