Cardiac Medications

OFFERING INFORMATION:
This offering is intended to improve patient care by increasing proficiency for nurses who work in arrhythmia management and with cardiac medications.

This offering is intended for Hawai'i Pacific Health nurses only.
Pre-Requisite: Ability to interpret basic EKG.


OBJECTIVES:
1. Examine medications commonly prescribed and ordered to patients with cardiac or cardiovascular disease, with a focus on arrhythmia management.
2. Identify the mechanism of action of common cardiac medications.
3. Identify the effects of common cardiac medications on hemodynamics.


CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health designates this live activity for 2.75 contact hours for nurses. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
