OFFERING INFORMATION:
This offering is intended for Nurses and Nurse Aides who work with patients in the burn unit.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify the steps of admission process.
2. Identify proper techniques used in the Burn Treatment Room and during bedside wound care.
3. Identify the nurse role vs nurse aid role during wound care.
4. Identify the steps in cleaning the wound bed.
5. Implement proper dressing application.
6. Identify healing vs non-healing burns.
7. Incorporate analgesia and relaxation techniques.
8. Implement infection control practices.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Hawai‘i Pacific Health has approved this activity is approved for 3.5 contact hours for nurses. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
