Pre-Term Infant Massage Workshop

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This class is designed to assist NICU RNs in their practice with the pre-term population.


OBJECTIVES:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of infant medical and developmental criteria for massage according to policy and guidelines.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of benefits of massage for infant and parents.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of pre-term infant massage basic technique taken from Tiffany Fields research.
4. Demonstrate communication of teaching to parents in family centered care philosophy.


CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health designates this live activity for a maximum 2.0 contact hours for nurses.

Practice infant doll to be used for class. Participants will practice massage technique on infant doll. Please contact Francine Chang at 983-8333 or
