ACTIVITY INFORMATION:
This activity will assist in training and teaching how to care for and treat persons under investigation of a highly infectious disease and it will educate and train on the disease process with MERS.


OBJECTIVES:
1. Define MERS.
2. Recognize the spread of infection related to MERS and create a plan to prevent these infections.
3. Implement the best treatment and care for a patient with MERS.
4. Demonstrate isolation precautions with PPE utilized in providing care of a patient with MERS.


CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
