OFFERING INFORMATION:
This event is an annual educational event that highlights current topics of interest for those caring for pediatric patients. This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Jerome Kim, Director General of the International Vaccine Institute, and he will be speaking on Vaccines for Global Health: From Need to Impact.
The conference will also focus on the following topics:
>Public Health and Infectious Diseases in Hawai'i
>Pediatric COVID-19
>Latent Tuberculosis
>Congenital Infections
>Climate Change
OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
1. Define the process of climate change, and its effects of global warming on human health.
2. Review the global vaccine need and its impact.
3. Identify current public health and infectious disease issues in the state of Hawaii.
4. Review COVID-19 in pediatric patients.
5. Evaluate neonatal infections.
6. Identify recent changes in management recommendations for Latent Tuberculosis Infection.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
In support of improving patient care, Hawai‘i Pacific Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
