This forum will bring together practicing clinicans at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children, Kaiser Hospital and Tripler Army Medical Center to discuss topics of interest. The topic selection is made by both identification of practice gaps and based on response of participants to specific areas. The current goal of this forum has been to discuss topics of interest where there have been identified differences in the approach of the three institutions and sharing of knowledge with the hope that this would lead to more standardized management of these patients for specific conditions. This forum has also been used to invite expert speakers to talk on specific topics that have been identified as needed in the community. Further the multidisciplinary format of this – multiple institutions and multiple levels of providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacist and nutritionists) lends this educational activity to be very interactive and multidisciplinary with the potential to impact all aspects of CE – knowledge, competence and patient outcomes.
