OFFERING INFORMATION:
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ONS Hawai‘i (O‘ahu) Chapter’s annual conference will be virtual again this year.

Has one of your patients asked you about fertility after they have started their cancer treatment? Fertility preservation is just one of many controversies that occur in cancer care. Over the past decades, major advances have occurred in cancer prevention and management. These developments have brought improved outcomes to our patients but not without controversies. Join your ONS Hawai‘i (O‘ahu) Chapter as we cover some of the current controversies in cancer care.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify methods to overcome drug shortages to continue to provide high quality cancer care.
2. Distinguish between palliative and hospice care and explain their implications in oncology care.
3. Provide examples of COVID19's impact on cancer care across the Hawaiian Islands and summarize the impact of COVID19 has had on virtual cancer care.
4. Describe ways oncology nurses can help young cancer patients discuss fertility preservation.
5. Apply, as a healthcare team, knowledge gained regarding cancer screenings into daily practice.
