About the Project

The Straub Benioff ED expansion project created a larger, modernized space to enhance the patient experience and streamline care.
Phase 1 was completed December 2025, followed by Phase 2 in May 2026, bringing important updates to meet the needs of our patients and community.
The fully renovated ED now features additional care spaces and a flexible design to support efficient, high-quality care.
The South Hotel Street parking and drop-off area was also enhanced to improve access to the ED.
One of the most significant improvements is increased space. The new ED is 10,600 square feet, compared to its previous size of 6,800 square feet.
In addition to larger, more efficient treatment rooms, other enhancements include:
- A dedicated nurses’ station
- Six isolation rooms
- New exterior glass walls and roof
- Upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
