The Straub Benioff ED expansion project is a 14-month project that will create a larger space to improve the patient experience and streamline care.

Phase 1 was completed December 2025. Phase 2 of the ED expansion project will bring even more improvements to meet the needs of our patients and community.

When completed, the ED will have 27 care spaces with a modern and flexible design.

Additionally, the South Hotel Street parking and drop-off area will be enhanced for better, more-efficient access to the ED.

The biggest improvement this renovation will provide is more space. The new ED will be 10,600 square feet, compared to its previous size of 6,800 square feet.

In addition to larger, more-efficient treatment rooms, other enhancements to the ED will include:

  • A dedicated nurses’ station
  • Six isolation rooms
