A cancer diagnosis can bring many questions. You may be wondering what comes next, who will guide your care, and how to choose the right treatment. With multidisciplinary cancer care, you don't have to face those decisions alone.
A multidisciplinary approach to cancer care means you have more than one expert helping guide your treatment plan. Your team may include cancer doctors, surgeons, imaging specialists, and other health professionals. Together, they look at your diagnosis, your test results, and your personal goals so they can recommend the best care plan for you.
Your care team meets regularly to review your case and talk through your treatment options. They consider the type and stage of your cancer, your overall health, and how treatment may affect your daily life. Most importantly, they listen to what matters to you. Your plan may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, medication, supportive care, or a combination of treatments.
