Biography and Interests
Biography
Dr. Fedorak is excited to be back in Hawaii providing pediatric orthopedic and scoliosis care to the community. He grew up in Victoria, Canada, and completed medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at Queen’s University. Following this he completed fellowship training at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Los Angeles. He began his career at Shriners Honolulu and moved to the University of Utah in 2016 to pursue his passion for taking care of children with scoliosis. However, he and his family realized they missed Hawaii and thus returned in 2020 as part of Kapiolani Bone and Joint team.
Dr. Fedorak treats the broad spectrum of pediatric orthopedic conditions including extremity deformities, fractures, and neuromuscular conditions. He has a passion for taking care of children and teens with scoliosis and is an advocate for aggressive non-operative treatment to prevent progression. He and his colleague, Dr. Burkhalter, provide surgical care for spinal deformity including Mehta casting, MAGEC rods, spinal fusion and Vertebral Body Tethering. Dr. Fedorak has presented his research at national and international meetings, and published in orthopedic journals including Spine, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics.
