Maternity
Kapiolani has been bringing babies into the world for more than a hundred years. It is the only medical center in the state with physicians (neonatologists) specializing in newborn care on site 24 hours a day. No one can predict when a baby will be born. At Kapiolani, physicians are already here – to provide babies with immediate care at delivery if needed. No other facility provides this level of care.

Fetal Diagnostic Center and Genetic Counseling
As Hawaii's maternity specialty medical center, Kapiolani opened the Fetal Diagnostic Center in 1990. It is the state's first obstetrical center to provide comprehensive diagnostic services for pregnant women. Its staff is comprised of maternal fetal medicine specialists (physicians with specialized training and experience in the care of pregnant women and their fetuses, including high-risk pregnancies), technologists, genetic counselors and clinical nurses, all dedicated to helping women have the healthiest babies possible.

Breast Health
Kapiolani is home to the state's first comprehensive program dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Its beautiful state-of-the-art center provides Hawaii's women with convenient, coordinated health care in a warm and supportive environment. Our dedicated team of physicians and specialists deliver the highest level of clinical excellence, while breast health nurses serve as caregivers for our patients, guiding women through diagnostic tests and treatments when necessary.

Cancer Care
The Kapiolani Women's Cancer Center is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer and gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulval and vaginal cancers. Home to the only center of its kind in the state, Kapiolani strives to provide the highest level of women's cancer care in Hawaii, where a woman's support network of family and friends can be an integral part of the treatment and healing process. In addition, the center offers patients the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials in collaboration with the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii and the National Cancer Institute.

The Kapiolani Women’s Center is the first Oahu facility to be named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the doctors who specialize in mammography and breast diagnostics from the American College of Radiology.
