Generally speaking, bariatric surgery is recommended for people with a BMI greater than 40. Those with a BMI between 30 and 40 may also qualify depending on insurance and comorbidity conditions.
How long is the process from consultation to surgery?
Typically, the process takes a minimum of three to six months. This allows enough time for pre-surgery consultation, dieting, lifestyle coaching, etc.
When can I go back to work after surgery?
There are no restrictions after three weeks. Some patients who do not have laborious jobs are able to go back to work one week after surgery.
Is there an age limit?
