MidWeek Cover Story Pens an Ode to Hawaii Pacific Health Doctors

Cover of MidWeek with five doctors in white coats.

National Doctors' Day is celebrated every March 30 to honor the care physicians give to their patients, the work they do in their communities and their extraordinary devotion to saving lives.

In recognition of all of our dedicated doctors, five Hawaii Pacific Health health care professionals represent their colleagues in a MidWeek cover story.

Pictured above, from left to right, they are:

  • Dr. Christopher Orlang, Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group section chief of radiology, Wilcox Medical Center.
  • Dr. Jared Oyama, Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group interventional cardiologist based at Straub Benioff Medical Center.
  • Dr. Emilie Stickley, Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group section chief of OB-GYN, University Women's Health at Hilo.
  • Dr. Craig Boddy, Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group division chief of hematology/oncology based at Pali Momi Medical Center and Straub Benioff Medical Center.
  • Dr. Loren Yamamoto, Hawaii Health Partners pediatric emergency physician at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

These doctors are just a few of the hundreds of medical professionals who are part of our dedicated HPH ohana of caregivers who all work in collaboration with each other. The vast impact of all of HPH's remarkable physicians is summarized in the excerpt below:

From the bustling streets of Honolulu to the rural pastures of Hawaii island, few communities remain untouched by Hawaii Pacific Health’s cadre of dedicated doctors. Whether navigating a first-time cancer diagnosis or rushing a feverish child to the Emergency Department, patients look to doctors as pillars of support, not only for medical expertise but also for words of comfort and guidance.

From the sun-kissed waters of Hanalei to the rainy valleys of Hilo and all mountains and shorelines in between, the contributions and commitment of our physicians know no bounds. Mahalo for helping us achieve our mission of creating a healthier Hawaii.

The MidWeek issue is available on Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii Island this week. You can also read the story online.
