Biography and Interests
Biography
Dr. Michael Lui grew up in Maryland, where he also completed his medical school education. He ventured off to Boston, Massachusetts, for his neurology residency and completed his advanced fellowship training in EMG and neuromuscular diseases in North Carolina.
After visiting Hawaii on multiple occasions, he and his wife fell in love with the islands, culture, and people. They decided to permanently move to Oahu in 2012.
Dr. Lui is currently the Division Chief of Neurology with Hawaii Pacific Health Medical Group.
Professional Interests
Electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS), various neuromuscular diseases including carpel tunnel syndrome, cervical and lumbar radiculopathies, generalized peripheral neuropathies, small fiber neuropathies, myopathies, myasthenia gravis. Dr. Lui also specializes in EMG-guided botox treatments for muscle spasticity as well as botox treatment for migraines.
