Biography and Interests
Biography
Dr. Kao is an interventional cardiac specialist and performs very technical procedures to open blocked arteries, treating and preventing heart attacks, and relieving chest pain. Procedures are performed minimally invasively, which results in a shorter recovery time for patients. Dr. Kao joined the medical staff at Pali Momi Medical Center from Jesse Brown VA Hospital in Chicago where he served as chief of Cardiology.
During his time there, he led the development of the hospital’s Electrophysiology Program, Chest Pain Center and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Program. He was also a member of the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He served as associate program director for the University’s Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program and assistant professor of medicine in Interventional Cardiology.
