Biography and Interests
Biography
Dr. David C. Cho is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Cho has been named as one of Honolulu Magazine’s "Top Doctors in Hawaii" and is listed in Castle Connolly's Top Doctor Guide.
From a very early age, Dr. Cho has held a profound interest in the visual arts, such as oil painting, drawing and photography. This appreciation of artistic beauty complimented his dream of pursuing a career in medicine as a plastic surgeon. Dr. Cho strongly believes that the fundamental principles of aesthetics can be equally applied to both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Today, it brings him great joy to use his artistic talents to improve the lives of his patients in Hawaii.
Dr. Cho received his surgical training in distinguished medical centers and private aesthetic clinics in Southern California, as well as through an international plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto. These experiences allow Dr. Cho to offer current and effective procedures for his patients in Hawaii.
Dr. Cho prioritizes patient safety as part of the surgical experience. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), two organizations that require adherence to a strict code of ethics in plastic surgery. This dedication to patient safety is why he specifically selected Straub Benioff Medical Center as a premier location to practice. Operations such as facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement and body contouring are frequently performed in the private Palma suite of Straub Benioff Medical Center. These operations are performed with board-certified anesthesiologists and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support-certified nurses.
Dr. Cho also believes in the importance of patient education and that informed patients are better prepared for surgery with realistic expectations. Patients are informed of the risks, benefits and alternatives of each treatment plan. This commitment to patient care and building trust has allowed Dr. Cho to develop many long-lasting relationships with patients.
Dr. Cho contributes publications to peer-reviewed plastic surgery literature. He is a published author in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® Journal and has presented nationally at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ (ASPS) annual meeting.
Dr. Cho is an active member of the board of Hawaii Health Partners (HHP) and Straub Benioff Medical Center. He also has served on the board of California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) as a resident member.
In addition to his practice at Straub Benioff Medical Center, Dr. Cho is a dedicated member of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children's Cleft and Craniofacial Center team.
