Biography
Dr. James W. Pearce joined Straub in 1980. His special interests include epilepsy, dementia, stroke, headache, pain syndromes and sleep disorders. He completed his residency at the University of California, Los Angeles and Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles Medical Center and completed a Neurophysiology fellowship at the Western Regional Epilepsy Center/VA West Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Pearce completed additional training in sleep medicine at the Stanford Sleep Disorders Center.

Dr. Pearce is the best. He is quite busy but I was able to come in on a cancelation appointment within a couple of days and had my problem resolved quickly. He listens well and I am happy to have him as my doctor.

The staff at Neurology (King St), just about everyone I cane into contact with & even those I just "passed by" going in and out was SUPER courteous and caring. It seemed like an exceptionally busy morning & I waited quite a bit before being called in, but the entire staff thanked me for my patience & apologized for the delay. There was an extremely rude & demanding patient that came in after me & was giving the front desk check in person a really hard time! But the staff member (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was REALLY patient and kind with her. It's those situations that really show Neurology dept staff at their best!!! Thank you for the opportunity to provide positive feedback. There's nothing I can offer to improve on perfection!

I did not feel that Doctor spent enough time with me. On my next visit I willl bring printed questions to ask so I won't leave feeling uninformed or rushed. The staff was exceptionally friendly.

Dr Pearce really spent time explaining to me what the EMG test was all about and if further testing would be needed. I appreciated the attention to details he gave to me and especially since I do not live on Oahu. The staff has also been kind enough to schedule testing and seeing Dr Pearce on the same day because of the travelling I have to do to make sure I'm at my appointments. They realize that I may have to come a day earlier and overnight in a hotel to make sure I do not miss any appointments because of flight delays or cancellations. Really appreciate their consideration with this!

In the 7 minute meeting with the Doctor I felt he did listen to me and did perscribe more prescriptions. But I don't feel that he sees me
