Claire Tong Named Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Hawaiʻi Pacific Health

Published April 25, 2025

Hawaiʻi Pacific Health has named Claire Tong as its new vice president of marketing and communications. Tong was previously HPH’s director of marketing.

A graduate of Moanalua High School, Tong’s interest in health care led her to major in biology and chemistry at the University of Hawaiʻi and then at the University of Washington, where she graduated. She also earned a degree in accounting from Hawaiʻi Pacific University.

Combining her knowledge in health care and business, she joined Straub Benioff Medical Center in 1997 as a marketing coordinator. She helped to lead the medical center’s marketing plans, public relations, video production and more. Her role continued to expand when Straub Benioff merged with Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center and Wilcox Medical Center to create Hawaiʻi Pacific Health in 2001.

I’m grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to leading Hawaiʻi Pacific Health’s marketing and communications department.

Together, we will continue working collaboratively to advance our mission of creating a healthier Hawaiʻi.”
