Straub Benioff Medical Center – Geriatrics Clinic is a specialty consultation clinic for adults age 75 years and older. The clinic is conveniently located on South Hotel Street directly across from Straub Benioff Medical Center.
Our multidisciplinary team specializes in assessing and managing the complex physical and cognitive health issues common in older adults. We also help patients who are receiving geriatric care reduce health risks and make care decisions that reflect their personal values.
Our team is made up of fellowship-trained geriatricians, a social worker, and experienced clinical support staff who work in conjunction with a patient’s primary care provider to provide high-quality, personalized care.
Our Services
- Cognitive Health: Assessment and management of memory and mood disorders, including mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and depression.
- Falls Risk Assessment and Prevention: Evaluation and implementation of strategies to reduce the risk of falls and fall-related injuries.
- Medication Management: Review of medication treatments to ensure safety and avoid adverse effects.
- Goals of Care and Advance Care Planning: Partnership with patients and their families to explore goals of care and align these goals with their healthcare plans.
- Referral to community organizations for additional help and supportive services, including home health agencies, day programs, caregiver support groups, and palliative care programs.
