Every minute, 62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment. To help those children receive the care and treatments they need, participating Dairy Queen® or DQ Grill & Chill® restaurants throughout Hawaii will celebrate Miracle Treat Day on Thursday, July 28, to benefit Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, one of 170 hospitals supported by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMN Hospitals).

Now in its 11th year, Miracle Treat Day brings awareness and raises funds for CMN Hospitals in local communities. One in 10 children in North America is treated at CMN Hospitals each year.

For every Blizzard® Treat sold on Miracle Treat Day at participating locations on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, $1 or more will be donated to Kapiolani Medical Center. Like all CMN Hospitals campaigns, donations raised will stay in the community to help local kids.

 Participating locations in Hawaii include:

Oahu:

Ala Moana Center

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

Marine Corps Base Hawaii

Navy Exchange Mall at Pearl Harbor

Pearl Highlands Center

Pearlridge Center

Ward Centre

Windward Mall

Maui:

Lahaina Cannery Mall

Big Island:

Kona Commons

Parker Ranch Center

Prince Kuhio Plaza

Queens’ Marketplace

Many of the programs that will benefit from Miracle Treat Day at Kapiolani are those that make the hospital more comfortable for pediatric patients – child life, chaplaincy, educational services, and animal assisted therapy. Donations to Kapiolani through the Children’s Miracle Network help fund the statewide pediatric transport program, support specialized medical services, provide state-of- the-art technology and equipment, and treat each and every child in Hawaii and the Pacific Region who needs care. As a not-for-profit hospital, Kapiolani relies on community support to treat infants and children for everything from broken bones to cancer regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Over the last 32 years, the Dairy Queen system has raised more than $100 million for CMN Hospitals in local communities through fundraising efforts including Miracle Treat Day, the Miracle Balloon campaign and other local initiatives.

The featured Miracle Treat Day “Blizzard Treat of the Day” is Oreo®, which is still the most popular Blizzard Treat to date. All other Blizzard flavors are also available that day.
