Positively Pregnant Class - Free
This free 2 hour class is open to all couples planning or expecting a baby. Whether this is your first or second child, this class can help you have the healthiest baby possible. You will receive a free pregnancy booklet when you attend. We encourage couples to sign-up early. Reservation required. Adults only please; we are unable to accommodate children in classes.

Maternity Tour - Free
Join us for this free 1 1/2 hour Maternity Tour and see why Kapi'olani is the right choice for your baby. You and your partner will tour our Family BirthCenter suites and learn about the specialized care available for your baby. We'll walk you through the steps, so you know exactly what to expect on the big day. Selecting a birthing facility is one of the most important decisions of your pregnancy. Tours are offered at convenient times throughout the week and we encourage couples to sign-up early in their pregnancy. Reservation required. Prepared Childbirth
This 3-4 week class (9 total hours) is designed for expectant parents in their last 3 months of pregnancy. This course covers female anatomy, warning signs, pre-labor signs, signs of labor, phases of labor, timing contractions, comfort measures and breathing techniques for labor. The class will also discuss relaxation exercises, birthing options, pain management, caesarean deliveries as well as your partner's role, postpartum care, and newborn appearance and procedures. Adults only please; we are unable to accommodate children in classes.

Infant Care (includes Breastfeeding and Infant CPR)
This 3-week series of classes (9 total hours) is designed to educate expectant new parents on how best to prepare for a newborn baby. Topics of discussion will include preparing for your baby, breastfeeding for expectant mothers, and your baby at birth. The class will also discuss general care and bathing, child safety and childproofing, child passenger safety, as well as Infant CPR for Family and Friends. Adults only please; we are unable to accommodate children in classes.

Breastfeeding
This one-day (3 hour) class is designed to prepare expectant parents for breastfeeding. Topics will include introduction to breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding, preparation for breastfeeding, common concerns, mother's self care, and community resources. The class will also discuss the female anatomy and how it relates to breastfeeding and milk production, the breastfeeding relationship – the how and when, preparing to return to work or school and pumping. Adults only please; we are unable to accommodate children in classes.

Breastfeeding Support Services and Consultations
Learn about the advantages of nursing your baby, as well as breastfeeding equipment and supplies and the specific techniques that will help promote successful breastfeeding. Cost is $50.00 per session or complimentary to babies born at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
