OFFERING DESCRIPTION:
This training addresses the need for a standardized approach to the education and development of healthcare providers as clinical preceptors for health professions students.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify the roles and responsibilities of a preceptor, course faculty and the student.
2. Implement clinical teaching frameworks to guide practice as preceptors for healthcare students and inter-professional teams.
3. Practice strategies for mitigation for common preceptor challenges.
4. Provide effective, formative feedback.
5. Incorporate inter-professional collaborative practice models.
