Basic EKG Interpretation is an instructor led class designed to provide the learner with entry level skills needed for EKG interpretation. We will briefly discuss anatomy of the heart and review normal cardiac conduction. You will learn how to identify Normal Sinus Rhythm and an array of commonly seen atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. A very brief discussion of commonly administered anti-arrhythmic medications is also included.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

1. Describe the normal sequence of impulse conduction through the heart;

2. Identify the components of the PQRST Complex;

3. Describe the steps in EKG rhythm strip analysis;

4. Recognize sinus rhythms, atrial rhythms, premature beats and the lethal VT/VF dysrhythmias.
