Diabetes Prevention Program

Wilcox Health is launching the next session of its Diabetes Prevention Program to help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes in the Kauai community. Led by trained lifestyle coaches Don Traller, PA-C, CDE, and Nancy Visitacion, CDE, this program uses a group-support environment to help participants:

  • Improve food choices.
  • Increase physical activity.
  • Loose 5-7% of your body weight.
  • Manage Stress.
  • Stay motivated. 

The year-long program begins Thursday, April 18, and will meet weekly in the Kauai Medical Clinic Conference Room on the first floor of the main Lihue clinic. Check-in is at 7:45 a.m. at the Health Management Program Clinic, located on the second floor of Kauai Medical Clinic. Classes begin at 8 a.m. 

Enrollment is open through mid-May. Missed sessions may be made up at a later time. 

Where: Kauai Medical Center Clinic in Lihue, 3-3420 Kuhio Highway, Suite B

When: 8-9 a.m. every Thursday beginning April 18
