When did you move to Hawaii?
January 7, 1993
Where did you move from?
Gainesville, Florida
What made you decide to move to Hawaii?
I first came to Kauai on vacation with my mother and sister and decided I would always be happy in such a beautiful place. Conveniently, there is a wonderful nursing school on the island which I attended.
What do you enjoy most about Hawaii?
I enjoy the beauty of the islands. Everyday I see something that takes my breath away — a rainbow on the drive to work, a breaching whale, a tree blooming with the most amazing flowers.
What do you enjoy about working at Wilcox?
There are many different cultures on the islands that I didn't grow up with. It's a learning experience to work with different kinds of people and attitudes. Family or "Ohana" is very important here and it's wonderful to see people so involved and caring.
What was the most challenging thing about moving to Hawaii and how did you deal with it?
Being so far away from family and friends is hard. The great thing about living in Hawaii is that everybody wants to come visit you. It's fun to play tourist when visitors come.
What activities do you enjoy?
I love to hike and bike. There are so many trails on Kauai. I paddle outrigger canoe for a team which is a great cultural sport on the islands. I enjoy taking my dogs to the beach. We just bought our first home, and its fun learning to garden and working on the house.
